Who you are Makes a Difference - Part 2

. . . Continuation from previous post

Imagine. He thinks I'm a creative genius. Then he put this blue ribbon that says ''Who I Am Makes a Difference'' on my jacket above my heart. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find somebody else to honor. As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about whom I would honor with this ribbon and I thought about you. I want to honor you.

''My days are really hectic and when I come home I don't pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes I scream at you for not getting good enough grades in school and for your bedroom being a mess, but somehow tonight, I just wanted to sit here and, well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me. Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You're a great kid and I love you!''

The startled boy started to sob and sob, and he couldn't stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, ''I was planning on commiting suicide tomorrow, Dad, because I didn't think you loved me. Now I don't need to.''

Who you are Makes a Difference

A teacher in New York decided to honor each of her seniors in high school by telling them the difference they each made. Using a process developed by Helice Bridges of Del Mar, California, she called each student to the front of the class, one at a time. First she told them how the student made a difference to her and the class. Then she presented each of them with a blue ribbon imprinted with gold letters which read, ''Who I Am Makes a Difference.''

Afterwords the teacher decided to do a class project to see what kind of impact recognition would have on a community. She gave each of the students three more ribbons and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgement ceremony. Then they were to follow up on the results, see who honored whom and report back to the class in a week.

One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive in a nearby company and honored him for helping him with his career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon and put it on his shirt. Then he gave him two extra ribbons, and said, ''We're doing a class project on recognition, and we'd like you to go out, find somebody to honor, give them a blue ribbon, then give them the extra blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person to keep this acknowledgement ceremony going. Then please report back to me and tell me what happened.''

Later that day the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had been noted, by the way, as being kind of a grouchy fellow. He sat his boss down and he told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very suprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon and would he give him permission to put it on him. His suprised boss said, ''Well, sure.''

The junior executive took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his boss's jacket above his heart. As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he said, ''Would you do me a favour? Would you take this extra ribbon and pass it on by honoring somebody else? The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in school and we want to keep this recognition ceremony going to find out how it affects people.''

That night the boss came home to his 14-year-old son and sat him down. He said, ''The most incredible thing happened to me today. I was in my office and one of the junior executives came in and told me he admired me and gave me a blue ribbon for being a creative genius. . . .

How a King overcame fear through God - Part 4

I'd recommend to start reading this study from part 1. The link would be to the right in the December 2007 tab . . . .

I would also like to add that we need to seek God all the time not just when we are in trouble. Once God spoke to me that the reason so many people had problems all the time was because that was the only time they would seek Him. He showed me that if he removed the problems, He would not get any time with the people. He said, ''Seek me as if you were desperate all the time and then you won't find yourself desperate as often in reality.'' I think this is good advice, and I highly recommend that we all follow it.

Instead of immediately presenting the problem to the Lord, Jehoshaphat began to talk to the Lord about how mighty the Lord is. He turned his focus on the Lord instead of on his fear of the problem.

And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
2 Chronicles 20: 6

Instead of talking to God only about our problems, we need to talk to Him about Him. We need to talk to Him about who He is, about the power of His Name and of the power of the blood of His Son Jesus, about the great things we know that He can perform and has already performed. After we have praised and worshiped Him in this way, then we can begin to mention the problem. I would not like it if my children only came to talk to me when they had problems - I want them to fellowship with me.

So This is Christmas

First of all i'd like to wish all my readers a special season of blessings 'n' goodwill. Ur welcome to meditate on the words of this chorus from our church;

Just walk in faith, He'll give you eyes to make you see
His holy presence, might and majesty;
He is there to give you constant victory
When you just walk in faith.

Beautiful, ain't it? But more beautiful to a christian who understands deeply about the truth, is this chorus;

O, we need, we need Your Fire
How we need Your Fire in our soul
O let Your Fire burn, holy Fire burn
How we need Your Fire in our soul

This is the true christian spirit of Christmas dear brothers and sisters, This Is Christmas.

If ur one of those people who are less well off in life than most of the others, read this verse very carefully:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
St. Matthew 6:10

I type this so confidently because i'm a living testament to this verse. I'm only 20, and am from a humble family, but the Lord has provided incredible blessings upon us all. Think about that verse. God bless you all.
Praise the Lord brothers 'n' Sisters

How a King overcame fear through God - Part 3

I'd advice you to read this bible study from part 1. The link would be to the right.

You may be in a similar situation to Jehoshaphat's. You too may need a word from God. You may feel that, like a drowning man or woman, you are going under for the third time. You may desperately need a personal word from the Lord if you are to survive.

God wants to speak to you even more than you want to here from Him. Seek Him by giving Him your time, and you will not be disappointed.

Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast in all Judah, and Judah gathered to seek the Lord for help, yearning for Him with all their desire.

And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court.
And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

2 Chronicles: 4-6

Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast to show his sincerity to God. Missing a few meals and taking that time to seek God is not a bad idea. Turning the television off and spending the time you would normally spend watching it wit God is not a bad idea either. Stay home a few evenings and spend extra time with the Lord instead of going out with your friends and repeating your problem over and over to them. These things and others show that we know hearing from God is vital. I have learned the word seek means to pursue, crave, and go after with all your might. In other words we act like a starving man in search of food to keep us alive.

The Gift

Bennet Cerf relates this touching story about a bus that was bumping along a back road in the south.

In one seat a wispy old man sat holding a bunch of fresh flowers. Across the aisle was a young girl whose eyes came back again and again to the man's flowers. The time came for the old man to get off. Impulsively he thrust the flowers into the girl's lap. ''I can see you love the flowers,'' he explained, ''and I think my wife would like for you to have them. I'll tell her I gave them to you.'' The girl accepted the flowers, then watched the old man get off the bus and walk through the gate of a small cemetery.

How a King overcame fear through God - Part 2

Before reading this post, I'd advice you to read part 1, for this is the continuation of that post. The link would be to the right.

Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, there cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontama, which is Engedi.
And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

2 Chronicles 20:2, 3

When Jehoshaphat was told that the ''-ites'' were coming against him, the first thing he did was fear. But then he did something else: He set himself to seek the Lord. Determined to hear from Him, he even proclaimed a fast throughout the land for that very purpose. He knew he needed to hear from God. He needed a battle plan, and only God could give him one that was sure to succeed.

We should develop the habit of running to God when we have trouble instead of people. We should seek God rather than our own minds or other people's minds. Ask yourself, ''When trouble comes, do I run to the phone or the throne?'' God might direct us to a person for advice, but we should always go to Him first to show that we honour and trust Him.

''Cancer is a word that comes with a great fear. No matter how many of my family members or friends told me God would take care of it, I was still battling fear until one of those nights about three o'clock in the morning when God spoke deep inside of my heart and said, ''Joyce, you can trust Me.'' After that, I did not experience the sickening fear again. I was apprehensive as I waited for the results from my lymph nodes test to see if I would need further treatment, but I still knew that I was in God's hands and whatever happened, He would take care of me.

As it turned out, I did not need any further treatment. We actually realized that through early detection, God had saved my life. I ended up thankful instead of fearful, and satan lost another battle.

Love: The One Creative Force

A college professor had his sociology class go into the Baltimore slums to get case histories of 200 young boys. They were asked to write an evaluation of each boy's future. In every case the students wrote, ''He hasn't got a chance.'' Twenty-five years later another sociology professor came across the earlier study. He had his students follow up on the project to see what happened to these boys. With the exception of 20 boys who had moved away or died, the students learned that 176 of the remaining 180 had achieved more than ordinary success as lawyers, doctors and businessmen.

The professor was astounded and decided to pursue the matter further. Fortunately, all the men were in the area and he was able to ask one, ''How do you account for your success?'' In each case the reply came with feeling, ''There was a teacher.''

The teacher was still alive, so he sought her out and asked the old but still alert lady what magic formula she had used to pull these boys out of the slums into successful achievement.

The teacher's eyes sparkled and her lips broke into a gentle smile. ''It's really very simple,'' she said. ''I loved those boys.''

How a King overcame fear through GOD - Part 1

Anytime trouble comes fear is usually the first thing we feel. Satan injects ''what if'' thoughts into our head, and we often begin to see the worst possible outcome. As soon as that happens, we should realize what is going on - Satan is trying to keep us from going forward in God's will and good plan for our lives.

The devil tries to use fear in its many different forms to keep us in shallow water. But even though we may feel fear, we need to focus our attention on God, and at His word we should launch out into the deep to receive the blessings God has for us.

It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Chronicles 20:1

Are the ''-ites'' after you? In this passage it was the Moabites and the Ammonites who were after King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah. In other places in the Old Testament it was the Jebusites, the Hittites and the Canaanites who were the troublemakers for God's people.

But with us it is the ''fear-ites,'' the ''disease-ites,'' ''poverty-ites,'' ''bad-marriage-ites,'' ''stress-ites,'' ''grouchy neighbor-ites,'' ''insecurity-ites,'' ''rejection-ites'' and on and on.

How many ''-ites'' are chasing you around? However many there are, let's look at what King Jehoshaphat did to turn His attention on God instead of focusing on all those ''-ites'' that were trying to rise and rule.

The real definition of ''Love''

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being ''in love'' which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

The Battle Belongs to the LORD

I'm gona start posting with a little spiritual somethin, coz I want to give all Glory 'n' Honour to God.

This excerpt is from the book titled: The Battle belongs to the LORD by Joyce Meyer, from which I'll be posting many of my spiritual topics.

God wants us to be totally free from fear. He doesn't want us to live in torment, and He doesn't want fear to stop us from confidently doing what He tells us to do. When we have a deep understanding concerning God's perfect unconditional love for us, we realize He will always take care of everything that concerns us - that knowledge eventually delivers us from fear. As we have experience with God and see that He always takes care of us and provides what we need, we begin to relax.

God moves on our behalf when we focus on Him instead of on our fears. The feeling of fear or fearful thoughts is simply our enemy satan trying to distract us from God and His will for our lives. We may feel fear at various times in our lives but we can choose to trust God and if we need to, ''do it afraid.''

This ''do it afraid'' theory is something God revealed to me many years ago. I saw that when He told Joshua as recorded in the book of Joshua chapter 1 to ''fear not,'' He was actually warning him that fear would try to stop him, but instead of letting the fear control him, he was encouraged to be strong and full of courage and keep going forward.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

There, a beautiful explanation on ''fear,'' the christian way! Joyce Meyer is certainly led by the Spirit in my opinion. That's it for today please check back tomorrow for some classy quotes!

Jesus is Alive

Yes dear readers, I am a strong believer in the power of the blood which was shed for the sins of me and you on Calvery so long ago. This post is to notify my dear readers that after roughly every other post I'll post a verse from the Holy Bible Just for encouragement 'n' extra blessings for me! 'n' ofcourse You! From the throne of the Almighty Himself!
If only I can share my experiences with you, I believe I can make a believer out of you! I will now insert an excerpt from the bible as to why I'm saying these things. These are the very words of Jesus himself; I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (St.John 14:6)
I know ur thinking I'm sounding a bit boring right now, but if u only know the Power of the blood of Jesus you'd definitely agree with me.
Just so you know, okay? may you all someday be filled with the love of Jesus in ur hearts!
God Bless U all!
Thank U for Your Time,
